Is it just me or should it be absolutely illegal for women to go through so much to birth a child that everyone feels the need to tell you is just like his daddy?!
Let's just recap everything that women have to go through for a child.
We have to get pregnant, experience months of discomfort, gain weight, experience morning sickness or other crazy hormonal things, then there's the actual birth of the child, breast feeding, waking up a zillion times a night, hair loss, and so much more. We go through all of that. The men? They have one good night followed by 9 months of a designated driver as they continue to live their normal life.
I had a really tough pregnancy. All pregnancies have some level of misery associated with them. The whole time I was pregnant I heard how much little R was going to be like his daddy. It was super cute then because who doesn't want a boy to be just like his daddy that you fell so in love with?! After I had R, all I heard was how much he looked like daddy. Ok. I could have been ok with this if I saw some resemblance, but he really didn't look overwhelmingly like his daddy. Maybe I'm just biased, but then again so is my mother-in-law. As R continued to grow, everything he did is just like his daddy. I post pictures on Facebook where people comment just how much he is his daddy. Everything he does from how he holds his hands (no, I'm not kidding) to the faces he makes. What's crazy is, when my mom sees him, she can see a bit of his daddy, but she also thinks he looks a lot like his mama! You know, the one who birthed him…
I should get some credit. I don't expect anyone to tell me he is my spitting image because I definitely see his daddy sometimes, but could someone say that he has my eyes (which he does) or my smile (which he definitely does) or something?!
Can I be the only one who feels this way?!
